PROJECTS

Inspection & Evaluation Techniques/Tools

Whether you need to inspect or audit a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant or a cruise ship’s delivery of expected services and experiences, we can design an approach that’s right for you.

We’ve designed systems that allow professional auditors to proceed quickly, methodically, and efficiently, and systems that guide first-time users through the operation.  If your needs dictate a requirement to allow both auditor types to operate, we can manage that too.  If your environment would benefit from multiple auditors simultaneously “sharing the load” of a high-volume audit, we can create the needed audit tools and consolidated reporting.

In any case, we’ll design and produce a tool and scoring system that provides an objective and quantitative representation of your environment.

Treasure Hunt Adventure Audit

Audit tool that allowed vacationing employees and traveling office workers to audit a vacation resort’s company standards and expectations during their visits.

Provided a means by which employees would be directed around the site to investigate and objectively evaluate audit material beyond their normal areas of expertise.

Audits contained varying content pulled from the areas of:

  • Safety

  • Public restrooms

  • Restaurant and bar operations

  • Pools and spas

  • Retail outlets

  • Casino operations

  • Staff appearance/grooming

  • General cleanliness

  • Recreational activities and performances

  • Staff friendliness and helpfulness

  • Reception Desk performance

Hotel Housekeeping Service Audit

A “hotel room inspection” audit tool for a 2500-room hotel providing a comprehensive, yet detailed, evaluation of all aspects, including, but not limited to:

  • Bed and linens

  • Flooring (e.g., vacuumed, stained)

  • Bathroom and all associated fixtures and features

  • Replenishment/refresh of all disposables (e.g., bars of soap, toiletries, coffee supplies)

  • Functionality of amenities (e.g., coffee maker, lights, refrigerator)

  • General maintenance (e.g., door latches fully operational, electrical outlets working)

  • Other key features

The tool also tracked the performance of individual housekeepers, and identified “trends” (opportunities for improvement).  The resultant data was also used for estimating furniture and material life cycles, and forecasting refurbishment costs.

Hotel Housekeeping Audit
Pharmaceutical Verification

A “compliance audit” of general operational procedures:

  • Evaluation of multi-step manufacturing protocols

  • Examination of procurement and production records and documentation

  • Analysis of production batches

  • Lab safety

  • Employee knowledge

Pharmaceutical Verification
Navigational Safety & Procedures Audit

Evaluating:

  • Bridge protocols and procedures for all crew and officer roles, and during all phases of navigational operation

  • Knowledge level and on-the-job performance of individuals in key “non-bridge” roles

  • Fire-fighting readiness and procedural execution (e.g., fire fighting equipment and crew knowledge and performance)

  • Condition of life-saving appliances and equipment (e.g., lifeboats, rapid-decent devices)

  • Performance quality of routine, scheduled maintenance

Navigational Safety/Proc. Audit
General Operational Procedures Audit

A “performance quality” audit tool for a Facility Maintenance Concessionaire that provided onsite general maintenance for equipment and the general facility.  The audit included, but was not limited to:

  • Performance audit of detailed work performed by maintenance personnel

  • Level of employee knowledge

  • Quality of worker decision-making

  • Level of teamwork present

  • Adherence to reporting and record-keeping protocols

  • Observance of established safety protocols

Gen. Operational Proc. Audit
Facility Refurbishment Evaluation & Recommendations

A highly detailed inspection tool evaluating the varying levels of condition, or aging, of all material aspects of the public areas (including rooms) for a major cruise line.

The tool divided up the inspection work, and assigned it to multiple inspectors.  For some features, an incredibly high level of detailed needed to be captured (e.g., the differentiation in condition between each of the four chair leg “skids” for each chair in a public lounge).

The “condition review” also extended into all of the guest staterooms and crew cabins.

The tool allowed the company to identify the highest priority requirements, and to budget and plan work accordingly.

Employee Attendance & Accountability Audit

A major cruise line was interested in establishing an internal auditing protocol that would identify, analyze, and bring forward violations relating to various ILO (legal) restrictions relating to working hours.

The audit process determined if crew members (employees):

  • Worked the hours they claimed

  • Worked more hours than they recorded

  • Recorded hours-worked in advance of actually working the hours

  • Observed the required rest period(s) between shifts

Relevant supervisors and departments were identified, allowing the confident pursuit of corrective action.
